Burris Eliminator Laser Scope Review: Your Next Rifle Scope with Rangefinder Built In

When you are all lined up and ready to take a shot, you don’t want to blow it by figuring out the wrong holdover. Even better would be to not have to calculate a holdover at all, and it is possible with the Burris Optics Eliminator Laserscope. The Eliminator is the most advanced rangefinding scope on the market, and for under $1.000, it can be yours. While not cheap, this scope is worth every penny, especially if it helps you get your next big shot with success.

How it Works

The Burris Optics Eliminator Laserscope is essentially a scope, ballistics calculator, and rangefinder all wrapped up in one little black tube, complete with etched skull graphic. The first step in using this gizmo is to set it up to match your ammunition. Next, you use the rangefinder to aim at a point that matches your trajectory. Using a red floating dot on the reticle, you then zero in on your shot. In other words, you can line up your shot in the middle of the cross hairs, and then raise or lower your gun so the red dot is centered on your target. The red dot will be customized to your ammo, ensuring an on-target shot every time.

Programming

To program the Eliminator, simply push the main button on the left of the scope twice until you get three dashes. Next, hold the main button and the forward arrow for several seconds to enter setup. Select yards or meters, sight-in distance, and a drop number, and then you are ready to aim and fire. Programming details are stored in the scope for convenience on future shots.

Design

Weighing in at 26 ounces with mount and battery, the Eliminator is designed for a low profile mount on your gun. The scope itself may not be the most flashy or attractive unit on the market, and the skull etching is a bit silly, but make no mistake: this scope came to play, and it will impress you with its precision and ease of use. It is a 3.5x10x40 mm scope with a laser accuracy of plus or minus one yard. Eye relief is 3.0 – 3.5.

Other Options

The Burris Optics Eliminator Laserscope is the most affordable of the line, but there are higher end models, including the Eliminator II and Eliminator III. The Eliminator III has a ridiculous range of over 1200 yards with accuracy at all magnifications and a sleeker design than the original. Of course, these both come with higher pricetags, with the Eliminator III breaking the bank at about $1500. Whichever you choose, you will be amazed at how easy these scopes are to use, and you will fall in love with the technology.

If you are looking for all in one convenience and technology that is second to none, give the Burris Optics Eliminator Laserscopes a try. While none of them are cheap, the original Eliminator is priced under $1000, and it will more than pay for itself in results.

Nikon P-223 3-9×40 Mate BDC 600 Review

nikon p223Nikon P-223 3-9×40 Mate BDC 600 review: There are a wide variety of AR15 scopes on the market today, with all kinds of different features and specialties. Many companies are constantly updating their models with new improvements to keep up with the competition. It is important to understand what is necessary, what is nice, and what is a good trade off for the price. First of all, for this scope, the buyer can have peace of mind knowing that it is developed by a mainstream, highly dependable and trustworthy optics company with a good record for quality products. The original $200 price point may seem a bit steep, but the value far exceeds the cost and a scope isn’t something that should be compromised on anyway.

What Nikon Forgot

Despite the wonderful quality of this product, there are a few faults. Most scopes today have color changing reticles, at least between two colors, in order to avoid color confusion when aiming at objects of similar color. The P-233 does not have this option. Additionally, the product does not come with rings, and does not have flip caps. These would be two convenient things to include. Not everyone desires flip caps, but they are a small and cheap item to package with the scope.

 The Good Side

Often times a brand will tout that its scope has certain features that do not function up to par – or in some cases, at all. The Nikon P-233 is fog and waterproof and does not fail to live up to these claims. This scope also keeps its zero extremely well. That means that despite moderate to strong recoil from one’s rifle, the scope will not get offset. Of course, after extended use this is bound to happen, but it will take quite some time. In the event that it does lose its zero, the P-233 offers ease of adjustment with standard macro and micro knobs. Unlike many other scopes of similar price range, it will not fail in the field unless it is seriously damaged. As is concurrent with the brand’s history, this scope is sturdily constructed and has great longevity.

Definitely a great choice.

UTG 4.0″ ITA Red/Green Dot Sight with Riser Adaptor, QD Mount and Flip-Open Lens Caps Review

UTG 4.0 ITA Red-Green Dot Sight with Riser AdaptorThe fact that the UTG 4.0″ ITA Red/Green Dot Sight is made in China might worry some people, but the construction is great. While it’s made out of aluminum — which gives it a pleasant, lightweight feel – it’s truly a solid scope that looks and feels like it should cost a lot more. It takes a ridiculously few number of shots to get it lined up, and it holds zero no matter the circumstances.

The green setting is nice and clear even in the brightest conditions, such as direct sunlight, but the red is much better suited for low-light situations or inside of a shooting range. The brightness setting allows users to “pick their strength”, and even when the lights are at their highest intensity, they are not distracted. This scope also provides the option of using small, medium or large dots. Someone using this scope for home protection will find that the red light provides for quick target acquisition, especially when it’s dark. Some people have complained about seeing multiple dots, but this is a problem that seems to only occur with those who wear corrective lenses or who have vision problems – it’s not a defect in the product.

UTG 4.0 ITA Red-Green Dot Sight with Riser Adaptor2This scope comes with everything that is needed to get going right out of the box. Included with the scope are allen wrenches for installation and adjustments, batteries (one to use and a spare), two mounts (high and low) and flip-up lenses caps. The only parts of this scope that are plastic are the lenses caps, but they are high quality and removable.

The quick detach feature is extremely convenient; if the firearm and mounted sight won’t fit in a gun case, for example, it’s quick and easy to just pop off the sight. Best of all, in spite of how easy it is the remove when you want it off, the sight will not become loose during continued use.

The low price and country of origin might raise some eyebrows, but this thing cannot be beat. At this price, it’s definitely worth buying to test out. It can almost be guaranteed that the sight won’t be returned!

NIKON M-223 BDC 600 8489 3-12x42SF Riflescope (Black) Review

Nikon is a leader in the high-quality lenses industry. So, it makes sense that this riflescope is going to be top of the line. One of the most important aspects of any product is ease of use, and this scope delivers with incredible precision. It is ready to use right out of the box and has a wide range of uses. The scope provides stunning accuracy at 100, 300 and even 600 yards out, with a bullet drop compensator (BDC) that can be adjusted in 50 yard increments. The BDC also allows users to change from one distance to another without the need to make manual adjustments.

The Nikon M-223 BDC 600 8489 3-12x42SF riflescope has excellent clarity and works flawlessly in low-light conditions. The scope can easily be sighted within 10 to 20 rounds, and it will hold zero through hundreds and thousands of rounds.

The scope is made in the Philippines of aircraft-grade aluminum, which makes it lightweight and durable. It has a sleek design and just looks good. The craftsmanship on this piece is superb, and it holds steady and solid even when less-than-perfect ammo is used. The removable anti-reflective device does a great job at minimizing lens glare. Also included are two caps to keep the lens protected when not in use. A separate mount will be required, and the .223 mount works wonderfully.

NIKON M-223 BDC 600 8489 3-12x42SF Riflescope (Black)-2If there were to be any cons about this particular scope, it would be that the numbers on the turret are black to match the scope, which might make things difficult to see in low-light conditions. During the day, this doesn’t present a problem at all, especially when each adjustment is met with nice, crisp click. Also, there is no need for any kind of tools when adjusting.

As far as value, this riflescope outperforms all others in its price range. Considering how well it works, the price tag on this model makes it a steal. Anyone who thinks that this model is too expensive is welcome to try out one of the cheaper ones. Once they’ve wasted their money, they will certainly want to come back to this one. Those looking for an extremely reasonably priced scope that can handle mid to long distance shooting with little effort are sure to find themselves quite pleased with the M-223.

Barska 1-4×28 IR SWAT-AR Riflescope Review

Barska 1-4x28 IR SWAT-AR Riflescope

The Barska 1-4×28 IR SWAT-AR Riflescope is a good, quality product that can be had at an unbeatable price. Out of the box, the crosshairs are nowhere near sighted, but it only takes 10-20 rounds to get it to zero. Once there, there is no need to readjust because it stays at zero with no issues, even after long-term use.

The lowest magnification on this scope is 1x. When used at this magnification, a rifle’s own iron sight can still be used. The highest magnification on the scope is 4x, and at this level, the scope still has a crisp, clear image, making it an ideal product for mid to long-range shooting. The scope’s reticle can be illuminated black, green or red. The green is best used during the day, and the red does an awesome job in low-light situations. When used in bright sunlight, the scope’s edged sunshade comes in handy; it casts a shadow that really does a lot for reducing glare.

This scope weighs in at 16 ounces, making it a nice, lightweight choice. It has a fine, matte finish that looks really sharp. It measures 10 inches, and due to its length, this scope is best suited for rifles with a full-length rail. On an AR-15, for example, it can be a little difficult to reach the charging handle when this scope is mounted, but it’s not a huge problem.

Barska 1-4x28 IR SWAT-AR Riflescope-2Included with this Barska scope are a low-profile mount, a battery and flip-up lenses caps. The lenses caps are made of plastic, but they’re very durable, and they are easily removable. They fit snugly on the scope, so there is no need to worry about the lenses being damaged when the scope is in transit or being stored. The scope features external target turrets, which keep it steady and securely locked down. Everything is sealed up nicely on this piece, preventing fogging and other water-related issues.

Considering the price and lifetime warranty, this Barska scope is definitely worth investing in. It is on the lower price spectrum when it comes to riflescopes, but it performs flawlessly.

Nikon P-223 3×32 Matte BDC Carbine Review

nikon p223

Well, before looking for info about the Nikon P-223 3×32 Matte BDC Carbine perhaps you didn’t know Nikon had any products for firearms. As Nikon has great products outside “scopes”, of course I wanted to see more when I saw this one. Most customers that have had this for a while now have gotten at least 300-400 rounds out of it and they have seen what this baby can do. I’ll say right off hand, you will be impressed with it!

Mounting this scope is very easy and quick; it will seat straight and upright, which is so welcomed– (other scopes are refused to sit straight for some reason). You will be happy with the wide field of view and depth of range provided when using this scope. The vision is so clear, it really is such a vast improvement from using the naked eye (at any range up to 200 yards). Your precision will probably increase greatly if you get this scope.

I like the little clicks that the turrets make as you make adjustments, it’s like a little reminder that you’ve made a change to your view, it’s something small, but I appreciate it. The turrets, well the whole scope, are built very well, and can withstand a little rugged handling.

The scope zeroes especially well, and once you’re there you can maintain that through a few hundred rounds, at least! It has been tried out on moving targets and in moving vehicles, and it is awesome. It just somehow makes it easier! You will improve your range from 100 to 450 yards, shooting with much more accuracy.

I would absolutely recommend this scope for any enthusiastic gunman out there. Nikon is an exceptional company, and they have created an awesome scope here. If you are struggling with some of the ballistics or technicalities, you can always download the app that goes along with this scope. It explains everything!

Burris 300210 AR-536 5×36 Sight (Black) Review

You may have shot using several scopes but you want something new, something with a crisper, cleaner view of your target. Am I right? I looked around a little bit and came across this optic, the Burris 300210 AR-536 5×36 Sight (Black); the reviews impressed me and it really seemed like a great addition to my collection. Burris describes it as “bigger and badder”, and I really gotta agree with them on that. You will be able to do some extensive shooting with this optic and it will prove to be the right decision in your search.

While doing my own research, I had in mind something that could give me at least a few hundred yards while practicing, but I was so excited to find that I could reach up to 600 with this scope. I was so pleased to find how easy it is to work with this optic.

I really enjoy its versatility; I have shot in the sunniest of situations, and also very poor lit, some rainy days– this baby is perfect in any setting, clear and no distortions. It should be noted also that there will not be any damages if you shoot in the rain. This optic really is built more ruggedly and is prepared to take most abuse that you can give to it.

Some customers reported minor problems mounting the optic, which let’s face it is not the best thing. In some cases, it took some finagling to make it straight, but it doesn’t seem to have affected anything at all.

Overall, I would definitely suggest the Burris 300210 AR-536 5×36 Sight (Black) to anyone looking for this kind of scope. It is built with really good quality, has great features, works very well, and for those of you just starting out it’s perfect. It is not cheap but you’re getting a lot for the amount you’re paying!

BARSKA 3-9×42 IR Contour Riflescope Review (4A Mil-Plex IR 7/8″ Picatinny Base)

If you do a decent amount of looking around and research before purchasing this scope, let me tell you… you won’t regret at all. The quality of this scope is very impressive, and it is very easy to use. I mean really, I have to say it, for what you pay for this scope, you especially aren’t making a mistake; it just feels like a steal. You won’t break your bank at all!

The BARSKA 3-9×42 IR Contour Riflescope is specially good if you want something solid to shoot at longer distances.

Many people have had this scope for a while now and nobody has reported any failures yet. Your precision will increase greatly and you also will be able to hit your targets super accurately from around 100 yards, which is really cool. It would be nice to try this out on moving targets, or even on a hunt, I think it could probably do really well with that.

BARSKA 3-9x42 IR Contour Riflescope (4A Mil-Plex IR 7/8" Picatinny Base)It fit onto the rifle perfectly, the lens is super clear and provides such crisp vision; the crosshairs look great and really help you line up your shot; and the scope zeroes really fast and will stay there through a lot of rounds (I average around 20 before needing to readjust. I do want to say, however, that you should be sure the screws are in very tight to insure it doesn’t loosen up. That can be a slight inconvenience to fix while you’re shooting, but very avoidable of course.

I would definitely recommend this scope over the others out there, especially if you’re just starting out with this kind of thing, it’s perfect and easy to use.

BARSKA 1×30 IR M-16 Electro Sight Riflescope Review

As you read through several online reviews perhaps you may have mixed feelings about purchasing the BARSKA 1×30 IR M-16 Electro Sight Riflescope. After doing a little research outside of Amazon I found solid information on it and felt I could justify going ahead with the purchase. I mean compared to other red dot scopes you would assume their quality is a little better, but for what you pay for this, it’s really pretty worth it. Now, even if you are not a gun expert or a red dot scope expert, I think you may have a winner here. Many people and customers have used it for long periods of time and have not encountered any kind of serious problems with it.

You can easily mount it onto you AR-15 with no problem. It will sat on there nice and tight for a good number of rounds, I’d say around 15 and then you will have  to readjust it to be sure it is secure again. One great feature that you will love is the adjustable brightness on the scope; it is a great function and very important to have especially when you’re in a super sunny place (highest settings for bright, sunny days and lower settings for an indoor range or a cloudy day).

I would definitely recommend this red dot scope to those looking for one. You are going to save a lot of money compared to buying one of the higher end ones, and the shot accuracy is well worth it. You will be able to hit your targets with very good precision while using this red dot scope, that’s for sure!

NcSTAR® 4×32 mm Mark III Illuminated Reticle Tactical Scope Weaver / Picatinny Mount Review

B001COS3IYAs you read through the reviews (well, perhaps not all of them, you will be pretty sold just with the first page of reviews!) you will be almost overwhelmed by the positive feedback the NcSTAR® 4×32 mm Mark III Illuminated Reticle Tactical Scope Weaver / Picatinny Mount has received, and people have been buying this scope for years and are still impressed! If you are looking for a decently priced scope and want to start to get some good practice in, then you are looking at the right place!

It is probably that most of you are like me and can’t afford the high-end scopes out there (I mean, we gotta drop a huge amount on the gun alone!) Paying for the extra awesomeness that you can play with can get a little too up there. You will be very happy about the price, and honestly do not let your expectations to be lowered. In fact, they will be exceeded with how well it actually works. You can get a good 100 yards through this lens, that’ll give you some good shooting practice (or range if you’re hunting).

Mounting it is pretty easy to do, very quick and very painless. Nothing seems to have come lose or anything like that. I really like the quick release feature; you can get that baby on and off in 5 seconds, really it has to be 5 seconds. You will be also impressed with the multi-colored cross hairs; they make a difference between shooting somewhere dense and colored and somewhere completely open and void of distraction like that.

You could be in a moving vehicle and the cross hairs would probably still be super beneficial. The eye relief for me is at about 1.75”, but that can always vary per person, just be sure to find what’s comfortable for you.

Overall, you will become a fan of this scope. If you’re on a budget I would definitely recommend it. It may be limited to what it can do, but if you’re needing a good practicing scope, this is definitely a good one to try out.
