The Barska 1-4×28 IR SWAT-AR Riflescope is a good, quality product that can be had at an unbeatable price. Out of the box, the crosshairs are nowhere near sighted, but it only takes 10-20 rounds to get it to zero. Once there, there is no need to readjust because it stays at zero with no issues, even after long-term use.
The lowest magnification on this scope is 1x. When used at this magnification, a rifle’s own iron sight can still be used. The highest magnification on the scope is 4x, and at this level, the scope still has a crisp, clear image, making it an ideal product for mid to long-range shooting. The scope’s reticle can be illuminated black, green or red. The green is best used during the day, and the red does an awesome job in low-light situations. When used in bright sunlight, the scope’s edged sunshade comes in handy; it casts a shadow that really does a lot for reducing glare.
This scope weighs in at 16 ounces, making it a nice, lightweight choice. It has a fine, matte finish that looks really sharp. It measures 10 inches, and due to its length, this scope is best suited for rifles with a full-length rail. On an AR-15, for example, it can be a little difficult to reach the charging handle when this scope is mounted, but it’s not a huge problem.
Included with this Barska scope are a low-profile mount, a battery and flip-up lenses caps. The lenses caps are made of plastic, but they’re very durable, and they are easily removable. They fit snugly on the scope, so there is no need to worry about the lenses being damaged when the scope is in transit or being stored. The scope features external target turrets, which keep it steady and securely locked down. Everything is sealed up nicely on this piece, preventing fogging and other water-related issues.
Considering the price and lifetime warranty, this Barska scope is definitely worth investing in. It is on the lower price spectrum when it comes to riflescopes, but it performs flawlessly.
